Do I have to be in shape?
You do not have to be an elite athlete to ski or snowboard. If you do some exercises before your first day, you will enjoy it more. First of all, you will learn faster, because you won't tire so easily during the learning process. You are going to fall down some while learning so you will bounce back better if you are in shape. Brisk walking, jogging, jumping rope or stretching are great ways to get in shape for a day at Mt Seymour.
The best way to learn!
Safety — Fun — Learning
These are the cornerstones of every lesson taught by the Mt Seymour Ski & Snowboard School. Our team of professional, enthusiastic, and certified instructors specialize in introducing new skills and making days on the snow great ones. A variety of programs are offered, catering to all ages and levels of experience.
As early as the 1940s, Mt Seymour pioneered the teaching of ski lessons to enthusiasts who made the trek from the Mushroom parking lot. In the 1980s, we taught the first snowboarding lessons amid the curious stares of passing skiers. Today, Mt Seymour has become well known as the place where Vancouver learns to ski and snowboard. With over a hundred certified ski and snowboard professionals, Mt Seymour's programs cater to the needs of its diverse clientele.
We have a lesson style to suit everyone. Our mountain has some very friendly slopes to learn on and our instructors are with you every step of the way.
