Volunteer Opportunities

Mountain Hosts

Mt Seymour requires volunteers to join our team as Mountain Hosts from December 2016 to the end of March 2017.  Duties involve working in different areas of the resort assisting guests with directions and information, assisting with special events and working on skis or snowboards to help guests enjoy our Resort.  Volunteers are mostly required weekends and during school holidays (Christmas & Spring Break ) and Monday evenings January thru until April.

In return for volunteering your time and commitment, Mt. Seymour provides a full Staff season pass, training and staff benefits.

Volunteer Program Options

A. Complimentary Staff Pass.

  • For a minimum of 80 hours on-hill volunteering throughout the season plus 2 training days –volunteers will receive a complimentary staff season pass.

B. Complimentary Staff + Family Pass

  • For a minimum of 100 hours on-hill volunteering throughout the season plus 2 training days - volunteers will receive a complimentary staff season pass plus a family pass for immediate family members.( some restrictions apply)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 19 years of age.
  • Intermediate skiing or snowboarding abilities *
  • Must have ski/snowboard equipment
  • Must enjoy working outside & be in good physical shape
  • Friendly & outgoing personality
  • * There are a few volunteer opportunities for non-skiing/non-snowboarding volunteers who enjoy being outdoors.

Ski & Snowboard School

Mt Seymour requires volunteers to assist our professional instructors with our lesson programs for skiers and snowboarders ages 4-6.  Our programs operate throughout the day on weekends, and during the Christmas and Spring Break periods, and during the evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from January to March.

In return for volunteering your time and commitment, Mt. Seymour provides a full Staff season pass, training and staff benefits.

Volunteer Program Options

A. Complimentary Staff Season Pass.

  • For a minimum of 80 hours on-hill volunteering throughout the season plus 2 training days –volunteers will receive a complimentary staff season pass & Seymour Shuttle Bus Pass.

B. Complimentary Staff Season Pass + Family Pass

  • For a minimum of 100 hours on-hill volunteering throughout the season plus 2 training days - volunteers will receive a complimentary staff season pass & Seymour Shuttle Bus Pass  plus a family pass for immediate family members.( Normally this option restricted to adults age 19 plus or volunteers who have completed at least 1 previous season)

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years old (14 with letter from parent/guardian)
  • Intermediate skiing or snowboarding abilities
  • Must have ski/snowboard equipment
  • Must enjoy working outside with 4-6 year old children
  • Friendly

Special Event Volunteers

We are looking for active volunteers who are interested in helping with various special events throughout the winter season. Our events generally occur on weekends and mostly include family events and terrain park events. Some renowned events that are coming back for the 2016/17 winter season include our popular Family First Night New Year's Eve event, Transworld Trans Am, BCSA Slopestyle, VANS Hi-Standard, Rockstar Slush Cup, and more to come...

Volunteer Program Benefits

  • A great way to learn about event coordination and actively taking part in various events.
  • For a minimum of 60 hours on-hill volunteering throughout the season plus 2 training days –volunteers will receive a complimentary staff season pass.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Beginner skiing or snowboarding abilities 
  • Must enjoy working outside & be in good physical shape
  • Friendly & outgoing personality
  • You do not necessarily need to ski or snowboard
  • Must be available on weekends (especially Saturdays)
